Our team at BINPAK has broad expertise in the waste equipment industry, including staff with past experience working in the hauler community. Our first White Paper covers the increasingly problematic issue of unauthorized access to waste, also known as dumpster diving. Future white papers will cover a variety of subjects of interest. We hope you find these white papers valuable, and all feedback is welcomed, including your ideas on topics of interest to you.

A little history of BINPAK Compactors will help you understand the value of a BINPAK to your organization, restaurant, or retail business. In the 2011 timeframe, a major Canadian coffee chain was looking for a better equipment option to handle their waste. The challenge was to build a better mousetrap – to take all the issues that this major chain was hearing from their many stores and design a piece of waste equipment that addressed those issues.
Store owners and staff had a long list of issues with the available waste equipment options in the 2010 timeframe including open waste bins, smell, people from outside the organization throwing their own waste in open bins, rodents, insects (wasps), and small animals (raccoons, skunks), very frequent pickups of waste, overflow charges from haulers, dumpster diving, liability-related issues like fire and staff safety relating to loading height of dumpsters and vertical-style compactors. Additionally available compactors in that timeframe took up a lot of space, had separate components and external hoses for hydraulic fluids.
Designing a compactor that addressed user concerns and was more compact and easier to install was the focal point of the design of the BINPAK Compactor. In our 2012 appearance on Dragon’s Den (which was pretty exciting!), our offer from the Dragons said “BINPAK has really built a better mousetrap!” Our customers agree today with that assessment.
